Trond
Trond Børresen is a Norwegian composer working at the intersection of neoclassical and cinematic music. His work is shaped by silence, space, and restrained emotional tension, drawing deeply from Nordic landscapes, climate, and solitude.
With a background as a rock musician and formal studies in classical composition, Børresen has developed a musical language centered on acoustic instruments, particularly piano and strings. His music is often minimalist in form, yet rich in texture and psychological depth, focusing on what is left unspoken and the emotional weight carried between notes.
He has composed music for numerous short films and worked as an orchestrator on larger film productions presented nationally in Norway. Alongside his work for screen, he continues to develop an independent artistic practice, creating standalone releases that exist beyond narrative function.
In 2018, he released the solo piano double single Snow One / Snow Two. His upcoming EP Solotude expands on this intimate approach through a series of quiet piano pieces recorded with minimal intervention. The subsequent album The Quiet North broadens his sonic palette into a more cinematic and orchestral landscape.
Børresen’s music is rooted in geography, stillness, and inner space — music for winter, reflection, and slow listening.
